Telangana: A Revanth Reddy files plaint on CM K Chandrasekhar Rao’s statute remarks

HYDERABAD: Telangana Congress president and Malkajgiri MP A Revanth Reddy has lodged a complaint against chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in Gajwel police station for his comments on the need for a new Constitution.

Revanth said KCR had insulted BR Ambedkar who drafted the Constitution and urged police to book an FIR against KCR. In his complaint at Gajwel PS, he said KCR had blamed the Constitution for not fulfilling the aspirations of people in the past 75 years. “KCR’s demand for replacing the existing Constitution with a new one amounts to treason. A case of treason under relevant sections should be booked against the CM.” The TPCC president also handed over a copy of the Constitution to Gajwel inspector Veera Prasad.

Revanth said India has a parliamentary form of democracy in which citizens elect representatives to the legislative assemblies and Parliament and the political party or an alliance with over 51% of seats elect a leader as CM or PM.

“The CM has a right to demand more funds and criticise the contents of the budget. But, he insulted the Constitution on the pretext of commenting on the Union Budget,” Revanth said. Revanth urged police to go through the entire speech of KCR’s press conference on February 1.
