Riot Games has pulled Tejo from VALORANT entirely after an exploit surfaced that let players get more out of his Guided Salvo than the ability was ever designed to allow.
On March 25, the official VALORANT X account announced that the Colombian Initiator is unavailable in every mode until the devs ship a fix.
What exploit led to Tejo being temporarily disabled in VALORANT
Practically, Tejo’s Guided Salvo fires two precision rockets that players can curve and steer toward a target zone during post-plant scenarios or pushing through smokes.
However, Billyvlr found an exploit that let players fire three salvos instead of two. That one extra salvo could potentially break the entire economy, as players could effectively get 50 percent more damage and zone control out of a single ability use, something the rest of the game’s balance isn’t built around.
Riot didn’t really have a choice here other than taking a fast call to temporarily disable the Agent from all game modes. It’s a decision Riot has made before with other agents and weapons, and while it’s never fun for players who like running Tejo, it’s far better than having bugs in-game from rushed patch updates.
For players, they need to find a different Initiator for the time being. Breach, Fade, Gekko, and KAY/O are all still fully available, so plenty of Initiators are available to play matches with.
When will Tejo come back?
Riot hasn’t confirmed a return date for Tejo yet. The X post says, “he’ll be out of commission in all modes for a bit. Stay tuned.” Tejo is the 27th agent in VALORANT and was officially released on Jan. 8, 2025, with the launch of Season 2025 Act 1.
Until he gets fixed and returns to the game, you can keep an eye on the official VALORANT social channels and the patch notes page for his return. When Tejo does return, expect Riot to address the fix in the accompanying patch notes.
Even VCT Stage 1 for all regions will kick off soon, and teams might have strats built around that Initiator. So, it’d be great if Riot could fix the Agent soon and get him up and running in a matter of a few days.
