Iran announced on Friday that it does not pursue the making of a nuclear bomb.

Meanwhile, Brazil postponed the request of two Iranian warships to dock in Rio de Janeiro, under pressure from Washington, Reuters reported.

"In order to respond to wrong American behavior and within the framework of reciprocity, we leveled up our nuclear activities at home," Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said during an interview with American radio NPR.

"However, when it comes to our beliefs and values, we do not pursue the making of a nuclear bomb."

He accused the US of hypocrisy and mixed messaging. "If you want to return to the deal, why do you say one thing to the media and the other through our diplomatic exchanges?"

“Please be advised that ever since 2015, the Iranian side has not been able to enjoy the benefits anticipated in the JCPOA. And therefore, this window will not be open forever.”

“If need be, we then go to our Plan B. We have numerous options on the table,” he added.

Commenting on the recent developments and protests in Iran, he said there is an exaggeration in the announced figures of detainees and dead.

Demonstrations have been rocking Iran in the wake of the death of Mahsa Amini in September. Amini died in custody at a police station for violating Iran’s strict dress code.

According to the HRANA activist news agency, about 20,000 people have been arrested in connection with the protests.

Rights groups say 527 have been killed in the crackdown, including 70 minors.

The United States and recently UK, France, and Germany fell into delusion and miscalculation and instead of using the opportunity to negotiate, they sought to interfere in Iran's internal affairs, Mehr News Agency cited Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi as saying on Friday.
