Teerachai resigns as Privy Council member

Teerachai: Steps down from job

Former army chief Teerachai Nakwanich has resigned as a member of the Privy Council.

In a royal command published in the Royal Gazette, Gen Teerachai asked to step down after he was royally appointed on Dec 6, 2016. His Majesty approved his resignation.

The royal command, dated June 19, 2018, was countersigned by Privy Council president Prem Tinsulanonda.

After King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun ascended to the throne on Dec 1, 2016, he appointed 10 members of the Privy Council; seven of them served under the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, and three were new appointees.
