Two teen boys charged over a fight that led to a 18-year-old's stabbing death have been ordered not to associate with the Original Gangster Killers gang.
The boys, aged 16 and 17, were freed on bail by a magistrate on Thursday, after more than a week in custody.
They're charged with violent disorder and affray over a December 4 altercation on St Kilda beach.
The body of Hashim Mohamed, 18, was discovered nearby with stab wounds.
A Children's Court magistrate agreed to release the pair on bail, noting neither was charged with causing Hashim's death.
It was foreshadowed last week that the pair could be freed on bail if Youth Justice could meet with Victoria Police and put a plan in place to support them and minimise risks to the community.
A worker who assessed one of the boys cited "concerns regarding conflict in the community with two per groups".
The magistrate ordered that the teens not associate with each other or any of their co-accused, abide by an 8pm to 6am curfew and not go near the St Kilda foreshore.
They were also ordered not to associate with members of the Original Gangster Killers gang.
The teens will not be allowed to contact each other or any of their co-accused before their case returns to court in February.
Police have charged three other teens as part of the ongoing investigation.
Two 17-year-olds, from Aintree and St Albans, were charged with violent disorder and affray.
A 15-year-old Taylors Hill boy was charged with violent disorder, possessing a controlled weapon and bail and other offences.
