Teens, man arrested in Long Beach shooting that injured 5

Feb. 20--Four teens and a 27-year-old man have been arrested in connection with a gang-related shooting in Long Beach that left five people wounded, authorities said.

David Ham of Long Beach and the four teens were arrested this week on suspicion of attempted murder with a firearm and gang enhancements. The teens were not identified.

The shooting occurred Sunday around 9:40 p.m. in the 200 block of West 14th Street.

Officers said when they arrived on the scene they found four people with gunshot wounds. A fifth victim was later discovered at a hospital outside Long Beach.

All of the victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries and are in stable condition, the department said in a written statement.

The next day, officers said they spotted a vehicle near Orange Avenue and 17 Street that matched the description of the car seen during the shooting. Five people were inside.

Officers said they pulled over the car and discovered that the driver had a suspended license and an outstanding arrest warrant.

Police said they found a gun and other evidence inside the car.

Anyone with information is asked to call Long Beach police at (562) 570-7370. Anonymous tips can be reported to Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
