Two 17-year-old boys were arrested after their car was stopped on the M62 heading toward Liverpool.
Police stopped a black Vauxhall Mokka travelling westbound on the M62 during the early hours of the morning following reports of a burglary in Warrington where a car was stolen.
When officers stopped the car two people fled the vehicle on foot.
Police then arrested two 17-year-old boys nearby on suspicion of burglary, dangerous driving and driving while disqualified.
Cheshire Police made the arrests following reports of a burglary at around 12.50am today on Sycamore Lane, Great Sankey, Warrington.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said to the ECHO: "At 0.50am today, Tuesday 6 October, police were called to reports of a burglary at an address on Sycamore Lane, Great Sankey, where a car had been stolen.
"Officers were dispatched to the area and a short time later the vehicle was spotted on the M62 westbound heading towards Liverpool.
"The vehicle was stopped by officers from the Roads and Crime Unit at around 1am and two men fled the car on foot.
"Two 17-year-old teenage boys were subsequently arrested nearby on suspicion of burglary, dangerous driving and driving while disqualified.
"The pair are both being held in police custody where there are assisting officers with their enquiries."
