Teens appear in court accused of city knife murder bid on 15-year-old boy

Two teenagers have appeared in court charged with trying to kill another youth in a Scots city.

The 15 and 16-year-old are alleged to have repeatedly stabbed their alleged victim, 15, in Glasgow on Friday, February 26.

The youth was taken to hospital after being attacked in the city's Thornliebank Road and is said to be in a critical condition.

A police probe was launched and, during the investigation, the two suspects were arrested.

They were held in police custody before appearing in the dock at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday afternoon to face a single charge of assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement and attempted murder.

Court papers claim they "did repeatedly strike him to the body with a knife or similar implement."

The 16-year-old was represented by defence solicitor Charlie McCusker during his short hearing, where he made no plea to the single charge against him.

The 15-year-old also made no plea during his behind-closed-doors hearing, and both youngsters were released on bail, with special bail conditions, by Sheriff Colin Pettigrew.
