Teenagers 'with knives' arrested in Scots town after concerned locals tip off cops

Two teenagers have been arrested with knives in a Scots town after concerned locals tipped off cops.

Cops say they received 'several' calls for 'concerned members of the public' in Renfrew on Monday about the 'actions of two males'.

Police responded and found two 17-year-olds each allegedly with a blade on them.

Pictures of the knives recovered by the force have now been released.

A statement from Renfrewshire and Inverclyde Police Division said the teens had been released but were expected to appear at court at a later date.

It read: "On the afternoon of Monday, police responded to several calls from concerned members of the public in Renfrew town centre over the actions of two males.

"Police responded and traced these males who were each found in possession of a knife.

"Both seventeen year old males were arrested and subsequently released to appear at Paisley Sheriff court at a later date."
