Teenagers set fire to the wall of a house in Bolton

A group of teenagers set fire to the wall of a house in Bolton.

Police issued a warning to residents living in the area of Shackleton Grove, in Johnson Fold, last night following reports of young people setting fires near to houses.

A fire was lit against the wall of a house at the end of the road.

Firefighters from Bolton North extinguished the blaze.

Greater Manchester Police are investigating the incident.

Officers posted on Facebook on Monday night: "We are currently on our way to reports of youths setting fires close to houses on Shackleton Grove, #JohnsonFold."

They later added: "Officers have attended Shackleton Grove, Johnson Fold. There was a very small fire at the end of the street which had been put out by GMFRS prior to our arrival."

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called to Shackleton Grove, Bolton, at 9.49pm. One pump from Bolton North attended.

"It was a small fire involving a quantity of bark and plastic on the wall of a house.

"There were no injuries."
