Two teenagers were subjected to a “terrifying” robbery by a pair of muggers in Glasgow.
Police Scotland are appealing for information following the incident in the Tollcross area on Friday night.
The victims, aged 17 and 19, were walking along Glenshee Street when they were approached by the thugs at around 6.20pm.
The suspects demanded they hand over their belongings, grabbed a mobile phone and fled the scene.
The 19-year-old was punched during the incident but didn’t require medical treatment.
The first suspect is described as white, around 6ft tall, average build, in his late 30s, with a bald head. He was wearing a blue fleece, blue denims and a blue coloured body warmer.
The second suspect was white, under 6ft tall, late teens, and wearing black coloured clothing and a black face mask.
Detective Constable Mark Milroy said: “Although nobody required medical treatment, this was a terrifying experience for the two men who were simply walking along the street. Nobody should be made to feel unsafe in their community.
“Shortly afterwards the phone that was taken was handed to a passer-by, who returned it to its owner. However, it does not matter than nothing was taken, this type of crime will not be tolerated and we will do everything we can to trace those responsible.
“There were a number of people in the area at the time, in particular a man who had a dog with him. Think back, was this you? Can you assist us in our enquiries? Anyone with any information is urged to contact police.”
Anyone with any information on the incident is urged to contact police via 101, quoting incident 2773 for Friday, February 12. Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given in confidence.
