Teenagers identified over theft of moped ridden around Tesco car park before crash

Police have identified two teenagers as they investigate a moped theft.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary put out an appeal for help in tracing the pair after the blue Lex Moto vehicle was stolen from a woman in Clevedon in Sunnyside Road on the night of July 20.

It was seen being ridden around a Tesco car park in the town before crashing in Corner Croft, damaging a fence.

The crash left two boys, both aged under 17, requiring hospital tratement.

Police then issued the appeal for help tracing two people seen in the supermarket car park at the time of the incident.

A spokesman said: "Police investigating after a woman's moped was stolen and crashed in Clevedon, believe they have identified two people they were hoping to trace following a public appeal."

He added: "Police issued images of two people who were in Tesco car park at the time the moped was seen and want to thank everyone who contacted them with information or shared the appeal.

"The investigation continues."
