Two teenagers have been arrested after a man was found dead in Brighton.

Sussex Police discovered the victim’s body at a city-centre building after responding to a report of concerns for a person in North Street on Thursday afternoon.

The man’s death is being treated as murder and police are working to establish how he died.

Officers are carrying out inquiries in the city centre as part of the probe.

A 16-year-old boy, of no fixed address, and an 18-year-old man, from Greenwich, southeast London, have been arrested on suspicion of murder. Both remain in police custody.

Chief Superintendent Nick May said: “We are at the very early stages of an investigation to establish what has happened in this tragic incident.”

Any members of the public who may have information have been urged to report it online or by calling police on 101, quoting Operation Gatling.

To give information anonymously, contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
