Teenagers arrested after alleged arson at London synagogue

  • Two teenagers, a 17-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man, have been arrested following an arson attack at Kenton United Synagogue in Harrow, north-west London.
  • The incident, which occurred at midnight on Sunday, involved a bottle containing an accelerant being thrown through a window, causing minor smoke damage to an internal room.
  • No injuries or significant structural damage were reported from the attack, according to the Community Security Trust.
  • Deputy Commissioner Matt Jukes confirmed these arrests are part of a wider investigation into 15 arrests linked to six incidents targeting Jewish premises, a Jewish-led ambulance service, and a Persian media organisation.
  • Police are investigating potential connections to Iranian-backed proxies in relation to these recent attacks on the Jewish community.
