A teenaget who used a stolen bank card to buy drink and scratchcards has been fined.

Bradley Baily, 18, bought vodka and scratchcards with the card in an act of "stupidity" after getting hold of the stolen card on June 19.

He pleaded guilty to fraud by false representation and receiving stolen goods at North Tyneside Magistrates' Court.

It landed previously unconvicted teenager with a criminal record.

"We don't want to see you in court again."

Prosecutor Lee Poppett said Baily had been "motivated by gain" when he committed the fraud.

But in mitigation it was claimed the total value of the June 19 fraud was just over £60, with the victim refunded by their bank.

Ms Bussell added: "The value of the fraud was low but you have committed a crime and found yourself in criminal court.

But because of his "previous good character", Baily, who lives with his parents at their Cobham Place home, was fined £80.

He must pay £85 in court costs and a £30 charge.
