Teen girl who died in car rollover was given driver's licence just hours earlier

The girl died at the scene after crashing her SUV on White Hill Road in Bouvard.

A teenage girl killed in a car crash south of Perth had only had her provisional driver's licence for a matter of hours, police have confirmed.

A WA Police spokeswoman said the 17-year-old Erskine girl had been given her P-plates on Tuesday morning, allowing her to drive a car without a supervising adult for the first time.

The young woman was travelling down a dirt road in Bouvard, near Mandurah, when she lost control of her SUV and rolled it shortly after midday.

The girl died at the scene and two passengers, both 16-year-old girls, were taken to Royal Perth Hospital and treated for injuries.

White Hill Road, which leads to a beach in Bouvard, was closed for several hours while Major Crash officers investigated.
