A teenager is due to appear in court in connection with the death of a schoolgirl at a popular Edinburgh tourist spot in December.
Mhari O'Neill, 15, was found dead on Calton Hill on December 8.
An 18-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with her death and is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today.
Mhari, from the Willowbrae area of the capital, was reported missing during the early hours of Saturday December 8 before a member of the public found her body at the beauty spot at around 6.30am that day.
Detective Inspector Susan Balfour, who led the investigation, said: "Our sympathies remain with Mhari's family at this time.
"We will now begin the work to prepare this case for court and I would like to thank all members of the public who came forward with information to assist the investigation."
