Teenager threatened with knife in Largs as duo steal car and bike

A teenager was threatened with a knife as he had his bike and car stolen in Largs.

The incident – which happened at 12.30am on Friday morning – has left the 17-year-old "extremely shaken".

Police have launched an appeal for witnesses to the robbery on the town's Nelson Street.

The lad was with his dog at the time when he was threatened with the knife. The suspects then stole his bike and white Suzuki Alto. Its registration number is NA10 FGV.

The victim later found his bike on Moorburn Road.

The first suspect is described as a white male, 6ft tall with a local accent and was wearing a dark grey North Face hoody with hood up and light grey trackies.

The second suspect is described as 6ft tall with his face partially covered and was wearing a red jacket belonging to the victim.

Detective Sergeant Stephen McCulloch, of Saltcoats CID, said: "The victim was not hurt but was left extremely shaken by this incident. Our enquiries are ongoing to trace the suspects and the victim’s car.

"We are particularly keen to speak to a woman who spoke to the victim after the incident and commented on his dog.

"If anyone has any information relating to the incident, or saw anyone matching the descriptions either before or after the incident, they should contact police."

Anyone with information should call 101, quoting incident 0379 of 29 May, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
