An investigation is under way after a teenager fell from a window in North Shields.
Emergency services were called to an address in Northumberland Square in the town centre on Tuesday morning following reports of the incident.
The North East Ambulance Service sent a rapid response paramedic and a double-crewed ambulance to the scene before taking a 19-year-old to Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital.
Police say he remains there in a "stable condition".

Officers are now investigating the circumstances of the fall and are asking any witnesses to come forward.
A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: “At about 6.45am we received a report that a man had fallen from a window at Scott House on Northumberland Square in North Shields.
"Emergency services attended the scene and the 19-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries where he remains in a stable condition.
"Enquiries into how the man came to fall from the window are ongoing and a cordon currently remains in place at the scene.
"Anyone who saw what happened, or has information that may assist officers, is asked to contact us through our website, or by calling 101, and quoting reference number NP-20210706-0149.”
