Teenager taken to hospital after being stabbed in the leg in street in south Manchester

A teenage boy was taken to hospital after being stabbed in the leg in Withington.

Police were called to the incident on Heathside Road at around 1pm on Saturday (May 9).

Two men were said to have had 'disagreement' at the scene.

The 18-year-old boy was stabbed in the leg by the other man and suffered minor injuries.

He was taken to hospital as a precaution, but has since been discharged.

No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.

In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "At around 1pm on Saturday 9 May 2020, police attended Heathside Road, Manchester to reports that an 18-year-old man had been stabbed.

"Enquiries have since established that following a disagreement between two men, one of the men proceeded to stab the other man in the leg.

"The victim was taken to hospital and has since been discharged.

"No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing."

Pictures taken at the scene show a police cordon in place outside a section of Heathside Road.

A police vehicle was also pictured at the scene.

Witnesses said there were a large number of police vehicles seen close to Costcutter on the street.

Detectives were also seen outside the shop carrying out enquiries.
