A teenager has been taken to hospital this evening after being hit by a car in an Ayrshire town.
The 18-year-old was struck by the vehicle at around 5.39pm this evening on Ardrossan's South Beach Road.
Police did not confirm the condition of the teen but did say she'd been taken to hospital to be checked over shortly after the incident took place.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Officers were called to a road traffic crash in South Beach Road in Ardrossan around 5.39pm tonight.
"An 18-year-old woman was struck by a car.
"She has been taken to hospital to be checked over."
