Teenager struck over head with bottle during serious assault near Scots holiday park

A teenager was struck over the head with a bottle during a serious assault near a Scots holiday park.

The 18-year-old male was attacked close to Ben Nevis Holiday Park at Camaghael, Fort William, in the Highlands.

The assault took place on Friday evening but was reported to police the following day.

Cops are checking CCTV from the area as part of their investigation.

Sergeant Brian Heriot, from Police Scotland, said: “From enquiries carried out so far we have established there were several people in the area that evening.

“I am appealing to those local residents and members of the public who were there to contact us.

“Any small piece of information could prove significant as we work to establish the person responsible for this attack.

“If anyone has dash cam footage, please check it as that too could aid our enquiries.”

Sgt Heriot said anyone with information can call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 0955 for June 19, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
