A teenage boy has been seriously injured after a stabbing in Gorton.
Police were called to reports of the incident off Mount Road at about 6.45pm on Friday (October 28). The 17-year-old victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
He is in a stable condition, say police. No arrests have been made at this stage.
People living near the scene reported hearing 'shouting' and 'arguing' around the time of the stabbing. Following the incident, witnesses said Mount Road was taped off near to a Premier Convenience Store for several hours.
A police cordon also covered sections of nearby East Road and Thomson Road. Forensic officers were reported to have been seen at a property in Thomson Road late on Friday evening.
One resident living on the street said: "There were three police cars blocking this road. They told us to come into our houses. They were here for quite a long time."
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "We were called shortly before 6.45pm on Friday (28 October) to a report of a stabbing near to Mount Road, Manchester.
"A 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital in a stable condition with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
"No arrests have been made and detectives from our Central Park CID are investigating.
"Any information should be passed to us via our LiveChat facility or by calling 101 quoting incident 2870 of 28/10/2022.
