Gardai arrested a juvenile boy at the scene. The scene of the knife incident, a laneway between houses, remains closed off this morning, Cork Beo reports.

A section at the bottom of the lane is covered over with a tarpaulin as gardai carry out a full forensic examination. It's believed the initial attraction may have started in a house in the area.

A Garda spokesperson said: "Gardai are investigating an alleged assault which occurred at a residence in Carrigaline, Co.Cork on Monday, 16th January 2023. The incident occurred shortly before 11.30pm.
