A teenager was stabbed outside Liverpool Street station during rush hour in London.
The 17-year-old was rushed to hospital with serious knife wounds, police said.
He remains in Royal London Hospital recovering from his “serious but not critical” injuries.
A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the attack.
A spokeswoman for the City of London Police said: “We were called to Alderman’s Walk near Liverpool Street at 5.59pm on Tuesday (5 June 2018) to a report of a stabbing.
“Officers from the City of London Police and London Ambulance Service paramedics attended the scene and the victim, a 17-year-old male, was taken to the Royal London Hospital with serious but not critical injuries.
“He currently remains in hospital.
“A road closure was briefly put in place while emergency services dealt with the incident.
“A 17-year-old boy from East Ham has been arrested and currently remains in custody.”
It comes amid a spate of stabbings in London, with recent statistics released by the Metropolitan Police showing a 21 per cent increase in knife crime in 2018 so far.
