Teenager stabbed at Leeds corner shop as police arrest 14 and 17-year-olds

Two youths have been arrested over an incident in Leeds where a 16-year-old boy was stabbed and seriously injured.

The boys, aged 14 and 17, were arrested from an address in Foundry Lane, Leeds, West Yorkshire on October 19.

The pair remain in custody on suspicion of wounding with intent in relation to an incident in the early hours of October 12 inside the Premier convenience store, in Harehills Lane, where a 16-year-old boy was stabbed in the back.

The incident happened at 1.17am and police were contacted by the ambulance service who were attending an address in Burmantofts where the victim had been found with a significant stab wound to the back.

He was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police have confirmed his injuries are serious, but are not considered to be life threatening.

A police cordon has been in place today for the address in Foundry Lane to undergo specialist searches.

Enquiries are ongoing by detectives from Leeds District CID.
