Sinclair Armstrong has been snapped up by Queens Park Rangers after first playing for Shamrock Rovers at 15.
Now 17, Dubliner Armstrong made his Rovers debut over two years ago against Drogheda United in the FAI Cup and has played for Shamrock Rovers II in the First Division this season.
Having been previously linked with Bundesliga club Hoffenheim, the Ireland under-17 international has joined Championship club QPR and will initially train with the under-18s.
The Tallaght club confirmed the move this morning, posting on Facebook: "Shamrock Rovers F.C. confirm that transfer of striker Sinclair Armstrong to Queens Park Rangers.
"The club wishes all the very best to Sinclair in his career.
"Sinclair (aged 17) had been with the club since 2017 most recently playing in our First Division side."
A QPR statement welcoming Armstong to the club read: "QPR have completed the signing of young forward Sinclair Armstrong from Shamrock Rovers, subject to international clearance.
"The powerful striker – a Republic of Ireland U17 international – will link up with Paul Furlong’s U18s squad to continue his development.
"Armstrong had been with Rovers since 2017 and made his senior debut for the League of Ireland Premier Division club aged just 15."
