Teenager seriously injured in Glasgow hit and run as cops hunt driver

Police are appealing for information after a teenager was seriously injured in a hit and run in Glasgow .

An 18-year-old motorcyclist was struck by a white BMW 1 series on Thursday 28 November 2019, on the A8, Alexandra Parade, near to its junction with Alexandra Park.

The teenager was thrown from his bike where he then collided with a Transit van.

The white BMW failed to stop.

The motorcyclist was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he was treated for serious injuries.

Officers are now searching for the driver of the BMW.

Police Constable William Allan, of Road Patrol West, said: “A teenager has been seriously injured as a result of this road collision and we are looking to trace the driver who failed to stop.

“We are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time and witnessed this or anyone that may have dashcam footage to help track down the driver of the white BMW car.

“If you have any information that can help us with our investigation, please contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 0583 of Thursday 28 November 2019."
