Teenager seriously injured after falling from cliff at Glenrock

A 17-year-old boy has been winched to safety after he suffered serious injuries when he fell from a cliff at Glenrock Conservation Area on Friday afternoon.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter team was called to the popular nature reserve about 2.25pm.

A critical care paramedic and a doctor were winched down to treat the teenager at the scene because of the difficult terrain.

A Westpac Rescue Helicopter spokesperson said on Friday afternoon the teenager was seriously injured.

"The teenager was stabilised prior to being stretcher-winched from the scene and flown direct to the John Hunter Hospital suffering serious facial injuries," the chopper service said in a statement.

The fall is believed to have happened near a waterfall in the conservation area.
