Teenager seriously injured after being struck by car in West Lothian

A teenager has been taken to hospital in a serious condition after being hit by a car in West Lothian.

Emergency services were called to the scene in Bathgate at around 9.40pm on Sunday.

The 15-year-old boy was knocked down on Station Road, Armadale, by a blue Audi A3 which was travelling south.

The boy was rushed to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment to his injuries which are described as “serious”.

The road was closed for around six hours to allow for accident investigation to take place.

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses to come forward.

Sergeant Jill Kirkpatrick, of Road Policing East, said; “A teenager has been seriously injured as a result of this road traffic collision and we are looking for the public’s help to establish exactly what happened.

“I would urge anyone who was in the area at the time or anyone who was driving on the road with dashcam footage to please get in contact with Police”
