Teenager seriously assaulted following disturbance in Glasgow's west end

A young man was seriously assaulted in a disturbance in Glasgow's west end earlier today.

The 18-year-old was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital after an incident broke out at Hayburn Lane at around 3.55pm.

His injuries are described as serious but not life-threatening.

Police cordons were put in place and officers were seen patrolling the area shortly after the incident.

One woman said: "Police look like they are marking up evidence. Must have been somewhat serious."

A Police Spokesperson said: "Police Scotland was made aware of a disturbance at Hayburn Lane in Glasgow around 3.55pm on Tuesday, 19 November.

"An 18-year-old man suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries during the incident. He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

"Inquiries are ongoing and anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to call 101, quoting incident number 2312 of 19 November, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
