Teenager rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car

A teenager has suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car in Wigan.

Emergency services were called to Warrington Road, in Goose Green, at about 9.50pm on Monday evening.

A male in his late teens was treated for serious injuries before being rushed to Salford Royal Hospital.

No further details have been released about the incident at this stage.

A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service said: "We were called to Warrington Road, in Wigan, at 9.50pm to a collision involving a car and a pedestrian.

"We sent a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance and an advanced paramedic.

"We treated a male patient in his late teens for serious injuries and took him to Salford Royal Hospital."

Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for further information.
