Teenager rushed to hospital after two cars crash on major road

A teenager was rushed taken to hospital after a two-car crash.

The collision was between a Peugeot and a Volkswagen Golf on Princess Way/Sandy Road in Seaforth at 9.05am yesterday.

Today, it emerged the victim, travelling in the Peugeot, was 19, and not nine, as police had previously stated.

The teen had minor injuries, with cuts to his head.

The driver of the Golf, 34, suffered bumps and bruises.

He was arrested on suspicion of careless driving.

Photos taken at the scene showed the barrier at the side of the road which has been badly damaged during the crash.

A tyre from one of the vehicles was also seen stuck inside the barrier on the roadside.

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
