Teenager rushed to hospital after stabbing incident in Co Carlow

A teenager has been rushed to hospital after a stabbing incident in Carlow in the early hours of the morning.

The teen suffered apparent stab wounds after the incident at a house in The Fairways Estate around 4am.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and the teenage boy was brought to St Luke's Hospital in Kilkenny with serious injuries.

Another teenager has been arrested in connection with the incident.

The scene remains sealed off by gardai with investigations ongoing.

A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí are investigating an incident of assault which occurred at a house in The Fairways estate, Co. Carlow at approximately 4:30am this morning, 19th October 2020.

"A male in his teens suffered apparent stab wounds and was taken to St Luke's Hospital to be treated for serious injuries. 

"Another male teen was arrested and conveyed to Carlow Garda Station where he is currently detained under Section 4 of The Criminal Justice Act, 1984. Enquiries are ongoing."
