Teenager rushed to hospital after crash closes Bury New Road for three hours

A teenager has been rushed to hospital following a crash in Whitefield

Emergency services were scrambled to Bury New Road at 9.10am this morning to reports of a collision.

The southbound carriageway was closed for three hours from near the M60 roundabout to Barn Street.

There were heavy delays on approach to the accident and drivers were asked to find alternative routes.

It is believed the road reopened at around midday.

A spokesman for North West Ambulance Service confirmed a teenage male patient had been taken to Salford Royal Hospital for treatment.

A spokesman for NWAS said: “We were called today at 09:10 to reports of a two vehicle RTC on Bury New Road.

“We sent and RRV, land ambulance and advanced paramedic to scene and took a teenage male patient to Salford Royal Hospital.”
