Teenager rushed to hospital after being stabbed in Greenock

A 15-year-old boy was rushed to hospital after being stabbed in Greenock last night.

Emergency services raced to the scene just before 8pm after receiving reports of a serious assault.

The teen was attacked around 7.55pm on Earnhill Road and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

The injuries he sustained are not life threatening.

Enquiries into the incident are currently ongoing as cops continue to probe the circumstances surrounding the assault.

Officers are urging anyone with information to get in touch with police.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police were called around 7.55pm on Saturday, 3 April, 2021 following the report of a serious assault on Earnhill Road, Greenock.

"Emergency services attended and a 15-year-old male youth was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

"Enquiries are currently ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the incident and anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 3776 of 03/04/21."
