Teenager rushed to hospital after being seriously assaulted by three youths

A teenager was raced to hospital after being seriously assaulted by three youths in an east end street last night.

The 16-year-old had been walking with his two 16-year-old friends on Dalmarnock Road at around 10:20pm when they became involved in an argument with another group. His companions ran off and the gang assaulted him.

Emergency services were called and he was taken to the Royal Infirmary, where he was treated for a head and arm injury but later released.

Police are appealing for witnesses.

Detective Constable Stewart Menzies is appealing for information. He said: “This is a busy area, so I am appealing to any motorists or taxi drivers who were passing and saw this attack take place. Also if anyone was in the area and has dash-cam footage, please contact us as it may assist our investigation.

“Any witnesses, or anyone with information should contact Shettleston Police Office through 101 quoting reference number 4925 of 21 June 2019. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
