Teenager rushed to hospital after being rescued from Firth of Forth early this morning

A teenager has been rushed to hospital after being rescued from the Firth of Forth early this morning.

The 19-year-old woman was taken to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy after being pulled from the water by rescue teams before 6am.

Police were called to the scene after receiving reports of concern for the female near Kirkcaldy Esplanade at around 5am. Rescue teams from RNLI Kinghorn and South Queensferry, along with HM Coastguard, were also in attendance.

The teenager was traced by coastguard teams near the Promenade and pulled from the water before being taken to hospital for treatment.

A police spokesperson said : "Officers received a report of concern for a 19-year-old woman at 5am on Thursday 10 December, 2020. The woman was later traced at the Promenade in Kirkcaldy.

"Emergencies attended and the woman was rescued from the water and taken to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy."
