A teenage boy has found himself in a tricky situation after he became trapped inside a claw machine at a North Carolina amusement park, resulting in a rescue operation.
The incident occurred just before 2pm on Sunday at Carowinds Park in Charlotte when the 13-year-old boy, who was not named, attempted to steal items from inside a claw machine game called Cosmic XL Bonus Game, which contained plush prizes, officials have reported.
The Cosmic XL Bonus Game is about 6.5 feet tall, nearly five feet wide and five feet deep, making it much bigger than the average claw game, according to the company’s website.

According to Courtney C. McGarry Weber, a spokesperson for the park, the medical response team rushed to the scene and unlocked the machine allowing the boy to get out of it, with the teenager being treated and subsequently released from first aid to his guardian, Buzz reports.
While no charges were filed against the boy, he was banned from visiting the park for a year as a result of attempted theft, Weber added.
This is not the first time an incident such as this has occurred. In 2018 in young boy became trapped in an arcade machine during his quest for a stuffed toy.
Mason crawled inside the claw-style vending machine in the play area of Beef O'Brady's restaurant in Titusville on Florida's Atlantic coast.
Thankfully though an off-duty firefighter, Jeremy House, was also dining in the restaurant and became aware of the situation and yelled for someone to call 911, with his colleagues from a nearby fire station joining him in rescuing the boy.
