Teenager on trial for attempted murder of man in Easton

A teenager faces a trial charged with attempting to murder a man in Easton.

The 17-year-old youth appeared via video link at Bristol Crown Court today. (June 17, 2019)

He pleaded not guilty to a total of six charges.

The charges include wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm to Malachi Small, affray and having a machete in Byron Street on October 23 last year.

In addition he has been charged with attempted murder of Malachi Small, wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm to Malachi Small and having a knife in Stapleton Road on May 18 this year.

Police inquiries into the alleged incident in May are on-going.

Judge William Hart adjourned the case to November 12 for a trial lasting at least six days.

The youth, wearing a black sweatshirt, was remanded in custody.
