Teenager on 'stolen' motorbike suffers serious leg injury in car crash

A teenager sustained a serious leg injury after a crash between the "stolen" motorbike he was riding and a car.

The incident happened on Oakfield Road, at the junction with St Domingo Vale in Anfield at about 5.30pm yesterday.

The rider is understood to have fallen off the bike after the impact with a VW Polo.

An ambulance was called to the scene, and the teen, from Croxteth, was taken to hospital for treatment.

His leg injury was not life-threatening, police said.

Police said he would be arrested on suspicion of drug driving, theft of a motor vehicle; disqualified driving and careless driving.

The Polo driver was not injured.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or was passing and holds dashcam footage is asked to contact @MerPolCC, 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
