A teenager has been left in hospital with serious injuries following an early-morning road crash in South Ayrshire.
Police are today appealing for information following the incident in Minishant yesterday morning.
A collision took place on the B7045 at the junction with the B742 at around 7.35am.
The incident involved two vehicles; a blue Vauxhall Vectra and a blue Ford Kuga.
The 19-year-old male driver of the Vauxhall suffered serious injuries in the incident.
He was taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock and subsequently transferred to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for further treatment.
The 35-year-old male driver of the Ford was uninjured.
The road was closed for around seven-and-a-half hours to allow for an investigation at the scene.
Sergeant Craig Beaver, of Police Scotland’s road policing unit, said: “Our enquiries to establish the full circumstances which led to this crash are ongoing and I would urge anyone who may have information to get in touch.
“We would be keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have dash-cam footage from around the time of the crash on Wednesday morning.
