Teenager left with facial injuries following late-night Irvine attack

Police have launched an appeal for information after a teenager was assaulted last night.

The 19-year-old was attacked on Irvine's High Street near to the Iceland supermarket at around 10.45pm.

The teenager suffered facial injuries during the assault, police have confirmed.

Detective Constabel Ross Brierley of Ayrshire CID said: "The area was busy at the time and we are looking to speak to anyone who may have seen a disturbance involving a number of young people.

"In particular we are looking to identify a man described as being around 5ft 9in tall, of slim build with ginger/fair hair. He was wearing a dark coloured body-warmer and grey tracksuit trousers.

"Anyone who can help our investigation is asked to call 101, quoting incident 4313 of 24 January, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
