A TEENAGER is dead following a Hunter Valley crash.
Emergency services were called to Mount View Road at Mount View, near Cessnock, about 8pm on Wednesday after reports a Ford Falcon left the road and struck a tree.
Police said the male driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
While the youth is yet to be formally identified, he is believed to be an 18-year-old.
Hunter Valley police attended and established a crime scene. They will investigate the circumstances of the crash and prepare a report for the information of the coroner.
