A teenager has been killed in a horror late-night car crash in Co Mayo.
The incident happened at just before 11pm on Thursday on the N60 Ballyhaunis to Ballinlough Road in the Cloonafarna area.
The collision, which happened close to the Roscommon border, involved a car travelling towards Ballinlough.
A 19-year-old man was killed in the crash and pronounced dead at the scene.
Another man, 21, was brought to Mayo University Hospital by ambulance. His injuries are not believed to be serious.
Gardai, Fire and Ambulance services all attended the scene.
The road is currently closed with diversions through Cloonfad from the Ballyhaunis side and also from Ballinlough. It is set to remain closed all morning.
A garda spokesman said: "The circumstances of the fatal road traffic collision are being investigated by Gardaí from Claremorris who are appealing to any persons who travelled along the N60 between 10:30pm and 11.15pm on the evening of Thursday 24th September 2020 to check for video footage (including dashcam) an make it available to them.
