Teenager injured in Hunslet street brawl as armed thugs attack

A teenager was rushed to hospital after being seriously injured in a Leeds street brawl with reports people were fighting with weapons.

West Yorkshire Police were called to Hunslet Road near the junction with South Accommodation Road at 9.07pm last night (January 3) to reports of a possible car crash and a brawl.

A 19-year-old was found with injuries including suspected fractures and he was taken to the hospital for treatment.

A spokesperson for the force has confirmed that his injuries are not life-threatening.

Officers found a damaged grey Peugeot 208 that had been abandoned at the scene that has been recovered for forensic examination.

Other vehicles believed to be involved had driven off.

Detectives from Leeds District CID are continuing to carry out enquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and to identify those involved.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact Leeds District CID via 101 quoting crime reference 13220003403 or online.
