Teenager in hospital after brutal attack by group in Bristol city centre

A teenager was hospitalised after he was assaulted by a group of men in Bristol city centre.

The victim was with a friend in Broad Quay on Saturday (October 23) when he was approached by the group at about 10.45 pm.

The men threw a punch or a bottle at the teenager's head, which cut his eyebrow and knocked him unconscious, before running away towards Cabot Circus.

The victim was treated by paramedics and attended hospital.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset police said two of the men were wearing black hoodies and light coloured jeans, were around 5ft 7ins tall and were in their late teens.

In a statement the spokesperson said: "Police are appealing for witnesses after a 17-year-old boy was assaulted in Broad Quay, opposite the Radisson Blu Hotel, at around 10.45pm on Saturday, October 23.

"The victim was with a friend, and a group of females were also present, when he was approached by a group of males, one of whom threw a punch or a bottle at the victim’s head, which caused a laceration to his eyebrow and knocked him unconscious.

"The males then made off towards Cabot Circus.

"Two of the males involved were wearing black hoodies with the hoods up and light coloured jeans. They were around 5ft 7 ins tall and in their late teens.

"The victim was treated by paramedics and attended hospital.
