Teenager hurt after thug in van shot him with an air rifle in 'completely random' Fife attack

A 16-year-old boy was hurt after being targeted in a "completely random" air rifle shooting in Fife.

Police say the weapon was fired from a black Transit van in Rosslyn Street on Monday afternoon.

The victim was hit on the nick and suffered a minor injury as a result.

The Fife Jammers Facebook page reported news of the incident, saying that the attack appears to be completely random.

The post added: "If you stay nearby and have your own CCTV system would it be possible to check for anything suspicious?"

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police in Fife are investigating after a teenager was injured by an air weapon in Kirkcaldy.

"The incident happened during the afternoon of Monday 17 June after the weapon was fired from a black Transit van in Rosslyn Street.

"The 16-year-old victim sustained a minor injury to his neck and inquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible."
