Teenager hospitalised after early morning Gorbals attack

A teenager was taken to hospital after police responded to a report of a serious assault in Gorbals, in the early hours of this morning.

Officers were called to the incident at Pine Place at 5.40am.

The 18-year-old woman was taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary with an eye injury while a 48-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, also with an eye injury.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report of a serious assault on Pine Place, Glasgow, around 5.40am on Thursday 17 October 2019.

"An 18-year-old woman was taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary with an injury to her eye. A 48-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with an injury to his eye. Both were released after treatment.

"We are following a positive line of inquiry."
