Teenager hospitalised after attack leaves him with broken nose and fractured cheek

A teenage boy has been hospitalised after being punched in the face and left with a broken nose and fractured cheek.

The incident took place in Jenny Becketts Lane in Mansfield at around 9.50pm on Friday, May 28.

Police say the teenager was reportedly with friends when he was approached by the offender and attacked - detectives are now appealing for any information to help with their enquiries.

The boy was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Detective Sergeant David Prest of Nottinghamshire Police is leading the investigation.

He said: “We are now working hard to establish what happened and find those responsible for this.

"Our enquiries are at an early stage and we are conducting house-to-house enquiries and trawling through local CCTV footage.

“This incident took place at around 9.50pm last night, Friday, May 28. We are appealing to anyone who saw what happened to please get in touch with us, particularly if you took any photos or have mobile phone video footage. This could provide vital information."
